We help our partners grow
At Affinity Chemical, we value relationships over the excess profits that can be seen in the specialty chemical industry. We believe the pie is big enough for all of us and that if we work together, we can make the pie grow.
Affinity has a core group of raw materials vendors, logistics and customer service providers, and they are integral to the regional, customer-focused ecosystems through which we serve our customers.
We’ve seen time and again that the strong partnerships we have with our supply chain members create growth and opportunities for all of us.
Affinity always does what they say they’re going to do. That’s a rare quality to find today. They help us pursue opportunities – they’ve been willing to do what was needed to help our business grow. – Distribution partner and customer
Case Study
A Partnership Win-Win
A full-service water treatment company was purchasing aluminum sulfate from a large specialty chemical company who shipped the alum from five to ten hours away. At times this put the company’s operations at risk of an outage due to late deliveries.
When the company’s owner learned Affinity was considering locating an alum plant nearby, he quickly saw the advantages it would provide his company. Affinity understood the synergies as well, and the two companies signed a long-term supply agreement, which included a competitive price for the alum. Affinity built the plant in under eight months with the water treatment company’s requirements as base load.
The company determined it would use its own tankers to haul from the Affinity plant. When those logistics were in place, the owner offered to be the regional “house” carrier for Affinity, starting with one dedicated tanker. As demand for Affinity’s alum grew in the region, so too did the company’s trucking operation. Today, the company runs ten tankers to Affinity customer deliveries.
“We have a synergy with Affinity that’s allowed us to grow as they grow,” notes the company owner.
Adds Affinity’s Lance Johnson, “There’s a level of dynamics here that we couldn’t necessarily achieve on our own. They’ve done an incredible job for us. They’re very much a service-oriented company which is aligned with who we are.”
Johnson points out the possibility of other synergies, noting, “They do everything with customer perception in mind so all their equipment looks really good. That’s something I’d like to emulate at our other plants.”
We create mutually beneficial relationships. We want our partners to view our customers as their customers too. – Lance Johnson, Affinity Chemical
